Encouraged them to explore all areas of music

Laurie taught all three of my boys piano over nine years.  Each rose to their own level of expertise, performing at school events, NYSSMA, community events and one even earned a little extra money playing piano!  Laurie uses small goals and takes the time to discover songs and music genres the kids are interested in to keep the lessons fresh and entice them to practice.  She always encouraged them to explore all areas of music whether it be with her, at school or privately, going so far as to attend some of their music events outside of piano.  Although mine have moved on to getting ready for college, the piano is still alive in our home thanks to Laurie instilling a love for it!
