Incorporates the “why” into their lessons

Both of my children have been taking piano lessons from Laurie Resila for about 5 years now. In that time I have seen them both grow as musicians and students. Laurie has a great way to teach lessons to children. Not only do they get to learn how to play but she also incorporates music theory, or the “why” into their lessons. Having two children who learn at different levels and in different ways Laurie has the ability to reach both of them so they can achieve at their own pace. I have seen what my children have learned from her and apply it to different instruments. My son plays both the trumpet in school, has the ability to teach himself songs he enjoys and is now teaching himself how to play the guitar. Laurie has played a huge impact in his musical life. Lastly, and most importantly she offers a very caring place to learn how to play the piano. She comforts students when they need it and pushes them when the time is right. My children have never felt uncomfortable about going to her house for lessons. I would have no reservations recommending Laurie to new parents who are looking for a piano mentor for their child.
