My son, Aidan, began taking piano lessons with Laurie Resila during his freshman year of high school and continued on for several years. He was interested in learning how to play the piano and Laurie was recommended from a friend.
Early on, Laurie was an excellent teacher who demonstrated patience and enthusiasm for music and piano playing. Laurie is sensitive to student’s learning and I was impressed by her skill in adapting lessons to Aidan’s needs as a musician. She made learning piano fun for Aidan by music selections that reflected holidays, suggestions of music that ranged from pop to classical, a reward system to keep Aidan motivated, and a continued focus on growth mindset. Furthermore, Laurie was very supportive in preparing for NYSSMA solos and recital pieces with Aidan.
I highly recommend Laurie as a piano teacher and I am grateful for the years Aidan spent with her in learning the piano. Carey F.
