Taught him about beautiful piano playing and encouraged his passion…

I had the pleasure of meeting Laurie Resila in 2008 when my oldest son started taking piano lessons with her. My middle son also took piano lessons with Mrs. Resila, for ten years! Although after a while he had learned to play the piano, Laurie continued to mentor him for talent shows, NYSSMA, playing the organ for a local church, and his personal musical pursuits. I have seen him search for “beautiful piano music” on the internet to learn to play. I believe that Mrs. Resila taught him about beautiful piano playing and encouraged his passion for playing the piano.  Both of my sons love music and the piano and Laurie Resila is a big part of instilling a love of music with her enthusiastic and energetic teaching. My son was able to choose the pieces he would like to play. Mrs. Resila engages younger children with a fun rewards system. Students can earn happy notes for completing their piano practice and after earning a few happy notes they can turn them in for a prize. Laurie Resila is an effective communicator as she keeps parents informed about the lessons and progress that has been made. She forms a wonderful connection with her students and will sometimes go to see them at other events they are involved in, both related to piano playing and not. I am grateful for her dedication and commitment to teaching piano. I get to hear lovely piano playing at my house. I highly recommend Laurie as a piano teacher and she will be an asset to all of her future students. Denise B.
