Laurie Resila is an extraordinary piano teacher. Generally, music lessons are a great method of giving children something to do other than to be on their phones or devices. Laurie takes this to a new level with tried and true methods of helping kids to set goals and keeping them motivated to learn! In addition to occasional “treat” bags of goodies and progress stickers, Laurie provides needed commendation and encouragement that helps kids to thrive. Her positivity and upbeat demeanor are a delight to be around. She does not pressure her students, but rather employs creative ways to keep students engaged and motivated. Laurie also attends her students’ NYSSMA piano festival performance if they opt to participate. Laurie has a way of relating to her students based on their various learning levels and styles, and does what is needed to help each student reach his or her full potential and develop their own passion for music.
Please know that you have been one of the highlights of my children’s development and a huge part of their childhood – an important one that has helped to mold them to the wonderful teens they are today. I mean every word I say in this review! I will always remember how special you are to my kids; and believe me when I tell you, they KNOW that you were a special part of their childhood. Angeline S.
