My Story

I have loved and played the piano since I was a child. I had a wonderful teacher who knew that if you were excited to learn something you would be willing to work at it. She was the catalyst that started me on my own musical journey which later developed into a desire to introduce others to the beauty that music could bring into their lives.

I am a proud mother of three and have taught piano in my Schenectady County, NY home for over 25 years. In addition, I have taught music as a substitute teacher in local school districts for years. I have also played organ at a local church for 15 years. I have a Masters in Elementary Education which has given me the basis to understanding child development.

Each year I send students to NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) through Level 6, where they compete and routinely get “Outstanding” & “Excellent” evaluations. My students have played at talent shows and school assemblies.  Last year one of them tried out for the Chopin Competition, playing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue!” I have introduced a select few to the organ and three of them played as substitute organists at a local church.

I am a fun loving person who likes to sing, dance, travel, hike, camp, play board games and spend time with family and friends in my spare time. I also volunteer at organizations such as the local Elks Lodge, church and school and have been a member of many local choirs over the years.

I love the piano and enjoy teaching it to others! I hope to give my students the same rewarding start to their own musical journeys like I experienced growing up. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with you. So let’s get started!

Each of us is a single note, but together we create a masterpiece.
